Maree Scarlett

Maree Scarlett is a dedicated practitioner specializing in substance misuse and abuse, goal setting, motivation, emotional regulation, anxiety and mood management. She has over a decade of experience as a registered Drug and Alcohol Practitioner (DAAPNZ) and also brings personal insight into the recovery journey, drawing deeply from her own lived experience.

Maree has worked extensively across public and private sectors supporting individuals who feel stuck in their creative pursuits, work-life balance or their efforts to maintain abstinence from substances ands havioural addictions. Her skill set includes group facilitation, public speaking, psychoeducation and trauma-informed care. She has a particular interest in family systems, offering support to family members and friends of loved ones affected by substance use.

Maree has a rich history in the arts having worked in radio, event hosting, international performance and speaks basic Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. Maree incorporates a range of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, the Matrix Model and Client-Centered Therapy. She places strong emphasis on the clinician-client relationship as the cornerstone of healing.

Maree holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Alcohol and Drug Studies, Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Diploma in Addiction Studies and a Certificate in Trauma Management.
